Part of having business cards printed is the legitimacy that those cards bring to your business. Business Card Sizes
Another consideration is your business card size, i.e 90mm wide x 55mm tall or smaller. A new dynamic business might opt for a narrower business card design, I.e 90mm wide x 45mm tall, but that is just a matter of branding and design, not a matter of affordable quality printing.

CMYK Business Card, Not PMS.
CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black) are / is the standard 4 colour printing process and can be mixed to make any variation of colour. With the business card paper stock acting as white, and the black acting as the darkness, the three remaining colours act in the same way that RGB (Red Green Blue), work in a TV.
PMS (Pantone Matching System) on the otherhand, is a very specific printing method, whereby the colour of ink is mixed before being entered into the printing press / machine, so that the printed result is as accurate as the ink-test is before being entered into the printing press itself. This use to be done in cases of colour critical brands, like CBA, the ADF, Coke and Qantas, but the need for PMS printing is becoming less as online business cards achieve CMYK consistencies.
Raised printing, or Verco printing, is now an obsolete business card printing method that involved a powder being added to the ink on a business card that raises the ink on the business card. Saunders Print, Raised Business Card Printing, printed verco bsuiness cards until 2016. Since 2016, however, Saunders Print replaced the verco business card printing with clear raised scodix printing.
Business Card GSM and MicroNs
Business card "GSM" refers to the actual weight of the paper, not the thickness, and so while the two share a correlation, it is incorrect to say that any business card is thicker just because it has a higher GSM. "GSM: stands for "Grams Per Square Metre". A business card made with a higher GSM stock can have been compressed more, and so while more heavy and rigid, they can actually occupy less space.
The actual thickness of the card is the microns, and is measured by a calliper. Between the microns and GSM, one could infer a sense of legitimacy and quality over the business that the business cards represent.
